What do I mean when I say becoming?
The thing about formation is that, well, it's always changing. Without even realizing it, you're being formed by someone. But are we being transformed to be more like Jesus or are we being pressed into the mold of the world?
One day, when I'm all grown up, I hope I don't even recognize myself. I hope that I'm the person God meant for me to be, that I'm fully awake in the world, alive to his mission, and active in his Kingdom.
Sometimes, I'm keenly aware of the progress. Sometimes I'm not. Either way, these are reflections about who I am becoming, written in the middle of it. If you're looking for tidy resolutions, you won't find it here. What you will find is honest, still being shaped thoughts about what is going on in my life and how I'm responding. If you also feel yourself living in the tension of already, but not quite yet, you'll feel at home here.
Spiritual formation rarely shouts to be heard. Often, we only see it in hindsight. These reflections live in that in-between space.
